Dive Site Malvin North – Ibiza
Islet surrounded by an extensive leafy Posidonia meadow inhabited by loads of marine life
Within just 5 minutes of navigation from the Port of Ibiza heading South, we find the islet Malvin North. The area where the mooring point is in its shallow bay allows to shelter from the strong Eastern winds, making it one of the favorite dive spots for beginners due to its ease.
Here, on its West side, we find an extensive Posidonia meadow that begins at just 3 meters deep and where it is common the presence of large schools of salemas, amberjacks and seabreams. In addition, towards the end of the Summer season, it is easy to find pipefish living perfectly camouflaged with the leaves of the Posidonia.
The dive takes place in the Northern half doing a round trip, making sure the outward journey is deeper than the return journey. The maximum depth is 25 meters, and all thoughout is full of big rocks between which groupers, moray eels, octopi and scorpion fish hide. Interesting and comfortable dive in which a lot of experience is not required.
