With a maximum depth of 20 meters and a stepped descent from 4 meters, The Arch is not only a recommended dive to refresh or learn diving techniques, but it is the most suitable for it. The initial profile of the dive does not exceed 7 meters, which allows to carry out the introductory program to diving known as “Try Dive”. There are many certified friends, couples or families who have been able to enjoy their favorite hobby here with their newbies companions.

The dive has similar characteristics to Punta Gavina and Es Banc, with a route that stands out for the extraordinary underwater landscape. During the dive, clients can swim though two impressive arches of submerged stone which give name to the diving site. The diameter of the first arch covers a height ranging from 1 to 8 meters. Its walls are decorated with countless sponges, false corals, seaweed and sea squirts, which serve as a refuge and even as a source of food for the schools of salemas and different species of seabreams that are installed there. At the base of the first arch we find, under a ledge, a large number of brown meagres, red mullets, octopus, groupers and moray eels. At this base, located about 14 meters deep, a curved wall begins that leads through the sandy bottom to a small Posidonia meadow nestled in a wide rocky structure. This set of large rocks gives way to the second arch, smaller but deeper than the first, which marks the return point of the dive.

El Arco is a dive site that is also very attractive for lovers of video and underwater photography since its spectacular and varied landscapes are compounded by the occasional presence of schools of barracudas and flying fish. As an exotic note, VELLMARI FORMENTERA found in this dive site a specimen of Zu Cristatus, a species of the depths that is very difficult to witness since it rarely reaches the surface. VELLMARI FORMENTERA had the fortune to be able to photograph and film it, something unique until now.
